You being there for Mom and us, through good and bad times, no matter what. It compares a father who has passed away to a giant tree that has fallen. Both provided shelter and safety while they lived, and both left an indelible mark on those around them, even after their passing. A giant pine, magnificent and old Stood staunch against the sky and all around Shed beauty, grace and power.

Within its fold birds safely reared their young. The velvet ground beneath was gentle, and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by. It fell one day. Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void. And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold — This giant pine, magnificent and old. This funeral poem is about the true meaning of success. It celebrates Dads who loved their children and who had a positive impact on the world. This moving funeral poem reminds us that our Dad is with us always.

When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch I will know it is you singing to me. When a butterfly brushes gently by me so care freely I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain. When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention I will know it is you reminding me To appreciate the simple things in life. When the sun shining through my window awakens me I will feel the warmth of your love.

When I look out to the sea I will think of your endless love for your family. When I think of mountains, their majesty and magnificence I will think of your courage for your country. No matter where I am Your spirit will be beside me For I know that no matter what You will always be with me. This is a funeral poem that reminisces about all the good times a Daughter had with her Dad. But it is heavily tinged with sadness that her Father was taken from her all too soon. Moments before our walk that afternoon, I realized the path ended too soon.

Not long enough to hold his hand, this amazing person, this loving man. Not long enough to engage his eyes and remember his always brimming with pride. Not long enough to stand by his side, as he was by mine after every rough tide. Not long enough to laugh with him still, after every bad joke, after every tough hill.

Not long enough to walk with this man, who has taught me to be the person I am. Not long enough as we walked by his wife, to thank them both for my wonderful life. This funeral poem expresses the fact that our Dad will always be a part of us and that we will never outgrow our love for him. It is a popular poem to read at a service for a Father, including funeral services, memorial services, and celebration of life ceremonies.

My father, my father, I love he, my father, my father, made me see, how beautiful this world really can be. My father, my father, said to me, my daughter my daughter, come see me, I wont be around forever, and I have things that must be. This next funeral poem is the perfect tribute for a Dad who was the strong, silent type, but who provided for his family.

If you are not having a religious funeral service, you may leave off the last verse, if you are so inclined. Fathers are wonderful people Too little understood, And we do not sing their praises As often as we should…. For, somehow, Father seems to be The man who pays the bills, While Mother binds up little hurts And nurses all our ills….

And perhaps that is the reason We sometimes get the notion, That Fathers are not subject To the thing we call emotion,. For the only reason Dad aspires To fortune and success Is to make the family proud of him And to bring them happiness…. Dad was there for the family, through good times and bad, and will always be cherished. These experiences made it hard for me and him to be able to relate to each other. We always seemed to struggle to understand what the other person was going through. His own dad was not around for most of his childhood because he had to work a job that was in a different state for almost 10 years when my Father was very young.

They only got to spend maybe a week or two a year together when my Grandpa would take a vacation from his job. Only being able to see your own Father for 2 weeks a year for almost 10 years.

I realized that my fondest memories with my dad were not when we went to Disneyland I barely remember that trip. No, it was the simple things we did together, just me and him. I cherished spending time with my dad when I was a kid. I remember there were summers where my dad and I on a random Saturday afternoon would go to the local park by our house and play soccer with some of his friends. I loved playing sports and I loved being able to do that with him.

It was amazing. Those were my favorite summer days.

Therefore, I made every opportunity count with him. So yes, my friends could wait until the next day for me to hang out with them. Time with my dad always came first.

Sometimes during the summertime he would also come outside if I was shooting hoops on our driveway and shoot baskets with me too. We would talk and relax and for those few moments, I was unbelievably happy. Again, I just loved spending time with him because I rarely got to do that. I never told him how happy it made me when he would come outside and hang out with me.

Reason being was that I never wanted him to feel bad that he had to work so much.

I never wanted him to regret not spending much time with me. Yet, I used to feel very alone for the majority of my childhood because I longed to have my dad around. I wanted to learn from him and I wanted him to teach me how to do things. I wanted him to teach me how to be a great man, just like him.
